Volunteer Roles
Outreach Volunteer
Distribute approved supplies, offer respectful conversation, observe community needs, and report concerns to the shift lead. Must follow field procedures.
Sorting & Supply Volunteer
Organize donations, prepare outreach supplies, check inventory, assemble kits, and ensure items are stored safely and respectfully.
Transportation & Delivery Volunteer
Help move supplies, deliver approved items, or transport project materials — following all driving, lifting, and safety expectations.
Event Volunteer
Support events, fundraisers, donation drives, and public awareness activities — welcome guests, organize materials, and answer basic questions.
Administrative Volunteer
Help with scheduling, forms, data entry, communications, and donation tracking — with careful respect for confidentiality.
Shift Lead / Team Lead
Coordinate volunteers during a shift, ensure field procedures are followed, monitor safety, and report incidents or concerns to project leadership.
What We Ask of Volunteers
- Treat every person with dignity, patience, and compassion.
- Follow all organizational procedures and safety instructions.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, or give as much notice as possible if you cannot attend.
- Respect confidentiality — never share personal stories or identifying details about community members.
- Avoid judgmental language, assumptions, gossip, or disrespectful behaviour.
- Work as part of a team and communicate clearly with shift leads or coordinators.
- Stay within your approved role and avoid responsibilities beyond your training.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or urgent situations promptly.
